Lack of suitable accommodations is definitely not a problem when you come and visit Mallorca. You might, however, have problems choosing which type of accommodation to choose from since there are plenty of choices when it comes to accommodations. The main types of accommodations avaliable in mallorca are hotels, aparthotels, villas, and fincas.
Hotels being the most common accommodation for travelers in Mallorca come in all price ranges. Most tourists opt to stay in 3 and 4 star hotels although there are also quite a number of five star hotels for those who want more luxurious quarters. Budget hotels are also common although you can of course expect hotels of these kinds to have very limited amenities and service that is not as good.
Aparthotels are available for those who want the freedon of cooking their own food and basically living in their own apartments but want the convenience that hotel service gives.
Villas are a more expensive option and are usually located in more rural areas. This means that although you get the privacy and space you want it affects your mobility in terms of transportation. It is recommended that those staying in villas also rent a car since most villas are not that accessible using public transportation.
Fincas and rural hotels are where people who vacation in small towns usually stay. Unless going on a simple excursion, those who opt for rural tourism have a choice between the two accommodations. Rural hotels are just like every usual hotel except that they are usually mansions or old big houses renovated to serve as hotels. These hotels often have just several rooms so that you won’t be overwhelemed by the number of people going in and out the hotel like in big hotels. Small as they are, they are also known for their quality service and very beautiful architecture. Fincas on the other hand are are old farmhouses and country estates that are slightly refurbished and renovated to be fit for visitors. The estates are usually very large and still operate as a farm so that visitors can enjoy a genuine country stay.
