Mallorca Festival, A Must See Event

Mallorca Spain is a well known destination for the summer and for those who are staying for a longer time they would prefer to stay in a Mallorca Villa to enjoy the place. There are so many reasons to stay in Mallorca; they seem to find a reason for celebration but do not dare miss the August festivals for they do this with utmost religiosity filled with veneration.

The biggest Mallorca Festival is during August the Feast of Assumption. Like any other Spanish town the locals would just love a reason for them to celebrate but during August they had made sure that this religious feast is done in a glamorous and religious way. The feast of Assumption falls on the 15th day of August. If you are going for a vacation on this month make sure that the designated date is included on your itinerary.

The Feast of Assumption is a significant celebration for the Catholics for it was the day it is believed that the Virgin Mary was taken into heaven. They do the celebration with the participation of the whole town and thus it is a public holiday during that time. Expect that you mingle with the local crows which added to the festive air in Mallorca.

I doubt though if you will have chance to glimpse peacefully at the bell tower of the Cathedral if they are having the celebration. Perhaps you can do so the next day. The bell tower houses the nine bells of the church. You can see the bell tower in all over Mallorca in whichever point you might be standing and this makes it an attraction to most tourists.

If you are planning to go to the church then you the appropriate dress rules to follow when they enter the Cathedral and you should be properly dressed. But if Mallorca Spain Weather makes it very appropriate to wear sleeveless then better bring a shawl with you and wear a light pants as you visit the Cathedral. You can then take off the shawl as soon as you go out from the Cathedral.
